Acne

Acne is a skin disease which normally attacks the area around the face. Acne is a part and parcel of growing up. It begins at the very onset of puberty, the first signs appearing as early as eleven or twelve years.
The average case usually clears up in the early twenties. But some acne continue either in full force or in milder form during the entire period of sexual maturity and sometimes even up to old age. The course of acne is erratic. It might appear and disappear at intervals, giving a few weeks respite in between, or it might occur seasonally in summer months only, or a few days before the onset of the menstrual period and disappear as soon as it starts.

What Causes Acne?
Acne is, due to glandular changes, particularly due to the rapid growth of sex glands at the time of puberty.
These glands speed up the production of a certain hormone known as androgen, which is very necessary for the growth and development of the body at the time of puberty. Androgen stimulates certain grease glands in the skin, to increased activity, This excess secretion from the grease glands causes the openings in the skin Lo become blocked giving rise to pimples and blackheads or acne.

Heat the pIaster and apply it firmly on the affected portion. Leave for twenty-four hours and then pull it off with a tug. This method, if properly used, is very effective for removing blackheads. This procedure may be re but it should not be used on sensitive or very areas. After removing them, dab on the skin, alcohol or some other mild disinfectant.
